Live Webinar-Solving The Housing Crisis-The Practicalities and Pitfalls
July 26 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The Property Owners Association of NSW
With housing shortages growing nationwide and particularly in NSW, it seems everyone has an opinion but very few have practical solutions. Lobby groups are using selective data to campaign for their agendas and the government is busy deflecting responsibility, leaving property owners to be squeezed from all sides.
Join us to hear from Dr Peter Tulip, Economist with the Centre for Independent Studies and Mark Dodgson, Licensed Builder and POA Committee Member, for their views on the housing affordability and supply issue.
Dr Tulip is Chief Economist at the Centre for Independent Studies. He previously worked for the Reserve Bank of Australia, the US Federal Reserve Board, the OECD and the Commonwealth Treasury. He is the author of many research papers on Australian housing policy. His recent work focuses on the effect of zoning restrictions on affordability.
Mark is a licensed builder, Swimming Pool Certifier and POA Committee Member. Mark studied Construction Technology & Management at the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology. He has project managed unit block developments, managed is own residential construction company, and has written texts for NSW Trainee Building Surveyors and Swimming Pool Certifiers.
