The boarding house and general rooming industry is facing significant changes that will impact how you develop, lease and manage this type of residential accommodation.

If you didn’t know it already, much has occurred in change to the regulations and direction of this niche industry in the past 2 years that will impact both the property owner and tenants they accommodate. It is crucial you get familiar and understand the new regulatory environment set down by NSW state planning laws and the rooming reforms currently under review at Office of Fair Trading.

In this 1 hour webinar we will be discussing the following:

  • NSW HOUSING SEPP 2021- find out what this is and how this impacts your ability to develop and manage a boarding house, rooming accommodation or a co-living dwelling.
  • The new regulatory pitfalls in rooming – what are the challenges and opportunities for this niche sector moving forward.
  • Proposed new NSW Share Accommodation Act – this is a NSW Government first-ever initiative to legislate the whole share accommodation sector. Find out how this impacts you as the property owner and/or manager of a rooming type accommodation including boarding houses.
  • G.I.B.A. Insurance – Welcoming our new POANSW affiliate sponsor providing a range of insurance options including boarding house insurance.
